iccan, because that seems a bit patronizing. Calling myself a Wiccan, when I haven't even done my year-in-a-day. Or been initiated into a coven. Or call myself a Witch when I haven't done a spell. So, yes, when I have a teacher who will teach, and I have the proper will to learn, THEN I can call myself a Wiccan. But now I'm a student. But, aren't we all? If you will teach, I will learn. And who knows, maybe we can learn from eachother?

The Fae and a little bit about them

The Fae vary in many different ways. Some are more physical than others, while others are transcendent and almost see through. Some look like plants or insect like, while others appear to be human. Fae are creatures that live both on our Earth, and yet they live on another plane of existence; hence, why some of them are less physical than others. The Fae are entities that possess many different and unique gifts and traits. They are unique creatures that can be found any continent and in any environment. They can be found in any season as well; however, Fae will tend to stray away from more civilized areas. It is very difficult to find Fae wondering around in a city.
The Fae are the pixies, the brownies, the goblins, the elves, the trolls, the gnomes, the salamanders, the sylphs, the nymphs, and much more. The represent elements, plants, animals, and parts of nature. And as you can probably tell by now, The Fae are tightly bound with nature.
The Fae are known to be very protective of their natural surroundings. Some might learn this the hard way. Mess with a Fae, and bad luck, misfortune, and horrible events shall follow you. It works the opposite way as well. If you treat a Fae with respect and gain its trust, you will experience better luck, happiness, and even gifts given from this Fae. So treat these creatures with respect!
The Fae are lovers of the Arts. They enjoy music, painting, sculptures, dancing, and much more! The freedom and fun that the arts gives. Those who are lovers of the arts will find the Fae to like them a bit more than others.
The Fae have a code of honor; however, they enjoy goofing around and playing tricks. So depending on the Fae will determine how serious you must act around it. They also adore animals and creatures that live in nature. They enjoy field mice, wild foxes, and free flying birds.

What do they look like?

Their appearance can vary greatly!
  • Bird like
  • insect like
  • plant like
  • animal like
  • fish like
  • human like

It depends on what Fae you have, and where they are. Fae are known to be shapeshifters, so their appearance can change depending on how they feel.

What are their powers?
Fae are very powerful entities. Their powers vary; however, they do have a few things that remain constant. They can shapeshift, pass through solid objects, have psychic abilities (including reading minds), can manipulate dreams, travel through the planes, and have a powerful sense of magic.

Characteristics
  • Closely entwined with nature, also have been called spirits of Nature. The live in the mountains, the mounds of moss and dirt, dance in rings of mushrooms, and have a love of flowers and trees
  • Devoted to the arts. Singing, Dancing, Music, merry making
  • Both help and harm humans. Why? It is not evident that we can determine their reasons. Fae have a different mind, a different way of life than us.
  • A fear of iron, or rather human development. A gift of clothing will frighten them off.
  • The appearance they take varies. They can take a human appearance, bird-ish, insect-ish, fish-ish, elemental-ish, leaf-ish. Their looks are quite varied.
  • Their drink and food are harmful to humans. Even speaking to them can be bad, so be careful.
  • They can be as lustful as humans, though their embrace can spell disaster, dread, misery, or even death.
  • Some are immortal, and some can die as easily as we can
  • have a sense of humor as well as a sense of honor.
  • They have their own language, but can speak many others as well, even man’s
  • They are known for riding field mice, foxes, bugs, cows, or fish, even horses
One of the best ways of forcing a Faery away is to show its reflection with a mirror. Fae have a hatred of seeing their reflection in man made items. They only see their reflections in reflective water.

Names

When you meet a new Fae to work with, you should never give it your name. The only time you should give it your name is if it tells you its name first.
You should always have a secondary name, and you should never tell them your true name. I have one, some of you may know it, and some don’t (I tell it to only people I know and trust).
Why? Well names hold great power, especially to the Fae. To know a person’s true name is to be connected to them. If you tell a faery you don’t trust you run the risk of the Faery taking control of you.
So! Never tell a Faery your true name. If the faery tells you its own true name, then the Fae is trusting you with its freedom, which to Fae is more important than life. So if that happens, you should consider yourself very lucky and happy to have such a bond.
Also it is polite that if a Faery tells you its own true name, that you tell it yours.
note: Even though some Fae are known to read minds, the point is that you TELL them your name. The act of doing that shows you are forming a bond with them, which if you form a bond with the wrong Fae can turn you into their servant.
